Currently Listening
Discipline
By Janet Jackson

Content

On my way back to Toronto,

My very first

First class

Train ride experience.

Was in Montreal for business

And here I sit

Moving like a bullet

Through space and time

Half buzzed from a

Sleeman’s and glass of red wine

As I am presented with my

Grilled Pork Sirloin dinner

Blogging

Laptop ready.

Mom would have been proud

To see how I’m progressing

Through this walk of life

I have a career

I’m starting to really enjoy.

Wedding plans for J and I

Are well underway.

I’m taking the initiative to

Understand where I stand spiritually.

For the first time in my life,

I am content.

No, my life is not perfect.

Times are often stressing

But right now,

At this very moment…

I am just

content.

 “Nobody move,

This is perfect.”

// half way home //

wanted to write from the phils
but access online was limited.
or rather "mobility" and "time"
were limited.

everything was great...
being with family
especially my close pinsans,
hangin out with friends there,
island hopping to cebu,
shopping and cheap eats.

things that were bad...
didn't get to buy everything on the checklist
mostly wedding-related stuff,
our 8 GB SDHC memory card
appears to be unstable as we no longer
have access to all the pictures we took
in the first half of our trip,
didn't get to check out the indie scene
that RJ swears would slap me in the face
because it's so good,
and airport-related idiocracy.

with that said,
i do have some pictures to share from the
latter half of the trip
which i will post in due time.

enjoying the west coast for the rest of this week
then it's back to the grind.

as for right now,
i'm dead tired and ready to crash here
at casa de cris... which is a lovely place btw (tnx cris!)
and janet and i are uber excited
to check out the vancity scene!

more in a bit...

// see the sea //

about to embark
on a trip back to the phils.

we're having a memorial
ceremony for mom there
on saturday july 7th

looking fwd to getting
away from everything here
at least for a bit.
i'm hoping j will adjust
to the heat and the insects
though chances are pretty
slim on that.

wanted to see if
i could play while down there
but time is of the essence
and it's just not in the cards.
but who's to say an
impromptu gig isn't...
we'll see.

the last couple of gigs
at the ren cafe were tons-o-fun.
the new songs are finding their
niche on both myself and
the fresh ears they fall on,
it appears.
i'll pen a few more,
test 'em out
and then we'll see what comes
of this project "neXt".

sir davecheng
has since confirmed
his master-of-all-trades persona
by recently picking up the bass,
after being so bloody awesome
on guitar and photography
and knowing anything about
everything under the sun.
i've recruited his genius
yet again and has been an
incredible addition to our
live sound.
looking fwd to having him
on board for more shows
down the road.

hopefully i'll have some
fotos to share in my next entry...

Elisa F. Sunga
January 30, 1955 - January 25, 2007

to the depths of my very being
a void exists that can never be filled
the most emptiest feeling
i have ever known in my entire life
i must now learn to live with.

with every millisecond that passes
every thought and memory that flashes
every pulse that charges through my veins
i miss you even more.

the pain my heart bears right now
is incomparable to the pain you suffered
for the last two years,
especially in your final weeks.
you fought for so long to stay with us.
that, i am both thankful and sorry for.
sorry that you had to endure all of that.
thankful that you did it...
for us.

it killed me to see how much this cancer
tortured you
and inspired me so much
to witness the strongest fight one could
ever put up.

i love you so much mom, i always will.

in your footprints,
i shall walk.
in your shoes
i shall dance.
in your words
i shall speak.

for it is in me now
that you will live
and in heaven
where you will live forever.

may you rest in peace.
